Job Summary
Vital Care Industries is seeking a highly analytical, proactive, and solution-oriented Senior Supply Chain Analyst to support procurement strategy, inventory optimization, supplier performance, operational efficiency, and business decision-making.
The Senior Supply Chain Analyst serves as a key business partner to leadership, providing analytical insights and recommendations that drive operational performance, supply chain optimization, and strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems, identifying opportunities for improvement, and transforming data into actionable recommendations.
The successful candidate will independently assess challenges, identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions that improve business performance. This position requires a high degree of ownership, accountability, critical thinking, and sound judgment. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, comfortable working with large datasets, and motivated by driving measurable business outcomes rather than simply reporting information.
Duties/Responsibilities
Supply Chain Analysis & Decision Support
- Analyze inventory, purchasing, supplier, operational, and production data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of supply chain challenges including shortages, excess inventory, supplier performance issues, and process inefficiencies.
- Develop data-driven recommendations to improve inventory management, supplier performance, procurement effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor key supply chain metrics and provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Evaluate business scenarios and recommend solutions supported by quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Present findings, recommendations, and business cases to leadership in a clear and concise manner.
- Partner with leadership to support strategic initiatives and operational decision-making.
Procurement & Inventory Management
- Support purchasing activities including order management, inventory coordination, and supplier communications.
- Monitor open orders, backorders, shortages, and supply risks while proactively recommending corrective actions.
- Support forecasting, demand planning, and inventory optimization initiatives.
- Analyze inventory health and recommend strategies to improve availability while minimizing excess inventory and working capital exposure.
- Evaluate supplier performance, pricing trends, and service levels to identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist with supplier negotiations through analysis of pricing, performance, and market trends.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools using Excel, Power BI, and other business intelligence platforms.
- Interpret large and complex datasets to uncover meaningful insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Automate reporting processes and improve data visibility across the organization.
- Maintain data integrity across item masters, vendor records, pricing files, and purchasing systems.
- Develop reporting tools that support leadership visibility into supply chain performance.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Identify inefficiencies within procurement, inventory, and operational processes and recommend scalable improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through process mapping, workflow analysis, and performance measurement.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve business processes and organizational effectiveness.
- Help establish scalable processes and controls that support company growth.
Quality & Regulatory Support
- Support quality-related tracking, documentation, and process controls.
- Review documentation for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Assist with process standardization initiatives and corrective action efforts.
- Support regulatory documentation and product registration activities as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with procurement, operations, warehousing, finance, quality, and leadership teams to support organizational objectives.
- Serve as a trusted analytical resource and advisor for operational decision-making.
- Contribute to strategic projects and business initiatives that support company growth and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, inventory management, operations analysis, business analytics, or a related field.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, Power Query, advanced formulas, data modeling, and reporting automation.
- Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
- Experience working within ERP systems (Sage 100 experience preferred).
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical business solutions.
- Experience performing root-cause analysis and presenting recommendations to stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- High degree of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong collaboration across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, medical device, healthcare products, or regulated industries.
- Experience supporting procurement strategy, supplier management, or inventory optimization initiatives.
- Exposure to quality systems, FDA registrations, or regulatory documentation processes.
- Experience implementing process improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field preferred.
