Supply Data Specialist

National UNV assignment - Egypt

Context

The World Health Organization (WHO) serves as the directing and coordinating authority for public health within the United Nations system, working to promote health, protect populations, and support the most vulnerable. In the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt), WHO provides strategic and technical assistance to the Ministry of Health to strengthen health systems, improve service delivery, and advance universal health coverage. Within this setting, WHO’s Operational Support and Logistics (OSL) function manages a complex, multi‑corridor humanitarian supply chain, including international and local procurement and large‑scale movements of medical and relief supplies into Gaza. The increasing volume of shipments, number of partners, and need for real‑time visibility—particularly along the Egyptian corridor—require strengthened information management systems. The Supply Data Specialist will play a central role in consolidating, analyzing, and visualizing supply chain data to support operational decision‑making, partner coordination, and transparent reporting.

Description of Duties

  • Track end‑to‑end supply movements through the Egyptian corridor by consolidating WHO and partner datasets into operational dashboards.
  • Develop donor‑specific dashboards showing incoming supplies and shipment status.
  • Monitor and report on trucks and pallets entering Gaza, ensuring timely data sharing with Country Office counterparts.
  • Support partners and WHO teams in data quality checks related to stock and transport management.
  • Collect and consolidate weekly pipeline updates from Health Logistics Working Group partners and maintain updated dashboards.
  • Support establishment and management of a digital platform for partner transport support requests.
  • Coordinate with the Logistics Coordination Cell to track approvals and prioritization decisions.
  • Produce weekly and monthly analytical reports, visualizations, and ad‑hoc information products for management and donors.

Profile Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, data science, supply chain management, public health, or a related field (Master’s an asset).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in information management, supply chain analytics, or humanitarian logistics.
  • Proven experience developing dashboards and managing complex datasets using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian supply chains and coordination mechanisms.
  • Excellent analytical, data management, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high‑pressure, multicultural humanitarian environments.
  • Experience with UN agencies or humanitarian partners is an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
