Responsibilities
- co-ordinating Logistics Supply issues arising from other RSAF Directorates as required, and with the PC and UKMoD, whilst providing advice on Logistics policy in support of the RSAF strategic mission statement.
- The Supply Superintendent will cover Spares Demand Forecasting and Planning, Spares Obsolescence Management, Arising Rate Management (ARM) support, contract reviewing, validating data for Performance Management purposes and Maintenance Liaison.
- The Supply Superintendent holder will also be required to provide assurance that all publications used within the relevant activities are compliant to the Policies of the RSAF Logistics Instruction Manuals (LIM).
- Communication throughout HQRSAF Directorate of Supply, Depot and Base Supply organizations will be a key feature of this role.
- Serve as a focal point for decision-making with regard to Logistics Supply support for the RSAF.
- Draft command policies, concepts, procedures and directives pertinent to the Logistics Supply support of the RSAF Fleet
- Provide a point of contact in KSA for HQRSAF, RSAF Bases, MODSAP, and the PC in respect of Logistics Supply support, and to feedback such information to the Director of Supply.
- Monitor and track related Logistics Supply issues to ensure the most cost effective and relevant support is provided to the RSAF for its fleet and associated equipment.
- Monitor and appropriately action all weekly, monthly and quarterly reported logistics information pertaining to the RSAF Fleet. Provide statistical analyses of reported information to the Director of Supply.
- Distribute, present and analyse statistical data as necessary, to ensure that actions are placed to alert the relevant internal or external agencies to adverse trends and to recommend courses of actions to correct such trends.
- Review, co-ordinate and progress Logistics Supply elements of technical submissions, Costed Proposals and Statements of Work. Determine the suitability and cost effectiveness of Logistics Supply elements specific to the RSAF.
- Co-ordinate with in-Kingdom programmes on the implementation of projects, or logistical support requirements, to ensure completion to cost, to time and to the agreed quality and performance specifications.
- Ensure that in-Kingdom PC staff is made aware of RSAF concerns relating to Logistics Supply issues and ensure that they respond in a timely and effective manner.
- Represent the Director of Supply at Supply meetings, ensuring that the RSAF viewpoint is well presented and understood and correctly documented and recorded.
Job Requirements
- Qualified to Degree or military equivalent RSAF Supply Skill Level 7.
- Have a good command of English language, both written and oral is essential (Level 4 ILETS).
- Will have a minimum of 10 year's practical supply experience of which at least 4 years should have been in management or supervisory duties.
- Have recent management or supervisory experience in supply or material management using a fully automated system.
- Have experience in inventory management requisitioning and procurement.
- Have experience in work schedules and task allocation.
- Have experience in mana-management and monitoring of staff performance.
- Have experience in the monitoring of supply performance and trends.
- Have experience in Supply training and standards
- Have experience in property accounting, item identification, cataloguing.
- Have experience in preparation of inputs to budgets.
- Have experience in provision of advice on the introduction of data proceeding techniques at a executive supply level.
- Knowledge and practical experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-point and Access.
