Core Responsibilities
- Ensure the proper maintenance, upgrades and continuous operation of networks.
- Support all UDC users in their daily day to day operations in Network, s/w, h/w and other IT related issues.
- The objective of this position also includes the complete maintenance of systems and train the new users.
- Develops standards for computer and network systems, to include standards for wiring, equipment & system security.
- Provides workstation hardware and software technical support to system users.
- Provides planning and advanced technical expertise regarding computer and network services for both local and wide area networks, and the worldwide internet.
- Serves as high-level technical expert in regards to computer/network systems and associated issues.
- Installs, configures, and maintains computer and network operating system and application software, as appropriate.
- Provides on-call support for computer/network systems as required.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Administer and maintain email and communications including installation and upgrades.
- Install and upgrade client software on PC's for email, adding and removing users and maintaining email list.
- Maintain network security including installation and maintenance of fire wall.
- Ensure installation and maintenance of anti-virus and spy ware software on both servers and workstations.
- Install upgrade servers and workstations operating system.
- Install and upgrade servers and workstation application software.
- Implements integrated network architectures for medium-to-large computer systems.
- Maintain and support all Audio Visual equipment at all sites.
- Train the new users on ICT related equipment and systems.
- Perform other duties assigned by direct supervisor to ensure that the flow of work is continuous and adequate relief is provided.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree - IT Related.
- Experience: 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Skills & Knowledge
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicates with users and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of a range of computer and networking software and hardware systems and related technologies.
- Ability to install, configure, and maintain personal computers, networks, and/or related hardware and software.
- Ability to analyze and assess computer/network architecture requirements and determine optimum, cost-effective solutions.
