Support Teacher/Floater

Bourbonnais, United States

SUPPORT TEACHER/FLOATER at Crossroads AND STEPPING STONES LEARNING CENTER
Where every day brings new adventures—and flexibility is key!

Are you the type of person who thrives on variety, adapts with ease, and can jump into any classroom like a pro? Do you love being around little learners but don’t necessarily want to be tied down to one group all day, every day? Well then, Crossroads and Stepping Stones Learning Center might just be your perfect playground.

About Us:
We aren't just and old childcare centers— our centers are a vibrant, welcoming place where children explore, grow, and thrive in an environment full of love, laughter, and learning. We’re known for our nurturing atmosphere, strong sense of community, and a team that truly feels like family.

We believe that every child—and every teacher—deserves to shine, which is why we’re searching for a dynamic Support Teacher/Floater to support our classrooms across all age groups. This is a key role that helps ensure smooth daily operations, provides classroom coverage, and keeps our standards of excellence soaring.

Position: Support Teacher/Floater
Location: Crossroads and Stepping Stones Learning Center
Schedule: Variable (up to full-time hours based on need)
Status: Hourly, not guaranteed—hours are contingent upon daily classroom ratios

Here’s the deal:
As a Support Teacher/Floater, you’re our pinch hitter. You’ll step in when someone’s out, assist during busy times, and help maintain proper child-teacher ratios. But here's the honest truth: when you’re not needed, you’re the first to clock out. It’s not personal—it’s just the plan to keep things running efficiently.

This position is ideal for someone who is flexible, reliable, and understands the nature of early childhood centers. You’ll still get tons of love, support, and learning opportunities here—just with a little more wiggle room in your weekly schedule.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide support in classrooms from infants to Pre-K, wherever the need arises
  • Implement curriculum and activities alongside lead teachers
  • Assist with transitions, meals, potty breaks, and general classroom routines
  • Bring the energy, patience, and warmth kids need every single day
  • Step up with a smile and step out gracefully when the day is slow—flexibility is everything!

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children
  • AA or Bachelor's Degree in Education
  • Valid CDA
  • A genuine love for kiddos and a can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a team-player mindset
  • Willingness to embrace a schedule that may vary week to week

Why You'll Love It Here:

  • Supportive, kind, and passionate leadership
  • A school that values connection, collaboration, and FUN
  • Opportunities to grow within our community and take on more responsibility over time
  • A mission you can stand behind: growing great kids through character, community, and care

Important Note:
While we’re always eager to welcome great people, please know that this role does not guarantee a set number of hours. Think of it like being a teaching superhero—called upon when needed, always appreciated, and first to recharge when the classroom is covered.

If this sounds like your kind of gig, we’d love to hear from you!
Apply today and join a community that believes in making every moment matter—for our children and our teachers alike.
