Surgical Physician Assistant

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years first assist or if new candidate recently completed a surgical residency.
LOCATION: Southern Westchester County, New York.
JOB SUMMARY: 40hrs/wk. Excellent opportunity for experienced PA to work in a hospital-based surgical practice. Function under the supervision of supervising attending surgeon on each of the following services listed below. Staff PAs comprise the surgical house-staff and as part of the attending MD/PA team, PAs are involved in the total care of the surgical patient from admission to discharge.

• First Assistant in a variety of specialties: Bariatric, General, Head & Neck, OBGYN, Orthopedic, Vascular, Plastics, Neurosurgery, and Thoracic.
• DaVinci Robot experience a plus but not necessary as we will train.
• Morning rounds.
• Pre-op and Post-op surgical patients.
• History and Physicals on routine and emergent admissions.
• Perform surgical consultations.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 years of first assist surgical experience or a new candidate who recently completed a surgical residency.
• Excellent suturing technique.
• Comfortable working independently performing invasive procedures ie. central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, dialysis catheters, incisions and drainage.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic.

Compensation: Includes On-Call Responsibility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $178,000.00 per year
