Surgical Scheduler

<Job Summary>
Join our dynamic surgery practice as a Surgical Scheduler, where your organizational expertise and compassionate approach will ensure smooth and efficient surgical coordination. In this vital role, you will coordinate surgical appointments, communicate effectively with patients, surgeons, hospitals, and manage detailed documentation to support high-quality patient care.

<Duties>

• Schedule general surgery procedures accurately for 3-4 surgeons
• Verify insurance coverage for surgeries
• Obtain insurance pre- authorizations
• Review and update medical records, ensuring all documentation aligns with clinical notes, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9/ICD coding standards, and care plans
• Communicate with patients regarding pre-operative instructions, appointment confirmations, and post-operative follow-up care
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, billing departments, and administrative staff to coordinate schedules and resolve scheduling conflicts efficiently
• Maintain accurate records of appointments, cancellations, reschedules, and procedural details
• Communicate daily surgery schedule at hospitals and/or surgery center to surgeons
• Assist with MA duties as needed (20%)
• Support bilingual patient communications as needed

<Qualifications>

• Bilingual required
• 1-year previous specialty surgical scheduling experience required
• Proven experience scheduling within a clinical or hospital environment; general surgery specific experience a plus
• Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Epic, and ECW familiarity
• Excellent understanding of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards, insurance verification and pre-authorization processes
• Demonstrated ability to review medical documentation accurately for completeness and compliance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
