<div>The Surgical Technologist is a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program. The Surgical Tech assists the surgeon as a scrub tech, assists the circulating nurse under his/her direct supervision, assists in housekeeping duties of the unit and maintains and increases standards of performance and education. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
<ul><li>Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program</li></ul>
<ul><li>Demonstration of recent and relevant experience</li></ul>
<ul><li>Current BLS certification</li></ul>
<ul><li>Participation in continuing education programs related to operating room nursing and mandatory OCH in-service programs</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to meet daily physical demands of the job</li></ul>
<ul><li>Cognitive ability to follow directions</li></ul>
 
JOB RELATIONSHIPS: 
<ul><li>Works under the direct supervision of the staff RN</li></ul>
<ul><li>Works closely with other professional and nonprofessional personnel in the OR, as well as interdepartmental relationships and patients/families</li></ul></div>
