A Survey Engineer (also known as a Land Surveyor or Geomatics Engineer) plays a critical role in construction, infrastructure, and land development projects. Their primary duty is to accurately measure and map the physical environment to support planning, design, and execution. Below is a comprehensive list of responsibilities:

1. Pre-Construction Phase

  • Conduct topographical surveys to map terrain, elevations, and existing features.
  • Establish control points and benchmarks for accurate referencing.
  • Prepare survey drawings, contour maps, and digital terrain models (DTM).
  • Verify property boundaries and resolve boundary disputes using legal documents.
  • Coordinate with architects, planners, and project managers for site layout planning.

2. During Construction

  • Set out (mark) building lines, foundations, roads, and structures as per design drawings.
  • Perform as-built surveys to verify construction matches approved plans.
  • Monitor verticality of structures (e.g., columns, towers) using theodolite or laser tools.
  • Conduct deformation monitoring for structures under load (e.g., bridges, dams).
  • Ensure alignment and leveling of roads, pipelines, and drainage systems.

3. Use of Technology & Tools

  • Operate advanced equipment:
  • Total Station, GPS/GNSS, 3D Laser Scanners, Drones (UAVs)
  • AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS software, and BIM integration
  • Process and analyze survey data using specialized software.
  • Generate 3D models and point clouds for BIM and digital twins.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare survey reports, certificates, and legal documents.
  • Submit as-built drawings and survey data to clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain accurate records of measurements, calculations, and field notes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
