Job Summary

A Surveyor measures, maps, and analyzes land, buildings, and infrastructure to determine boundaries, elevations, and positions for construction, engineering, and legal purposes. The role requires precision, technical expertise, and strong analytical skills to ensure projects are accurate and compliant with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure and record land features, boundaries, and elevations using surveying instruments and GPS technology
  • Conduct field surveys for construction, engineering, and land development projects
  • Prepare and review survey drawings, maps, and reports
  • Verify property boundaries and resolve boundary discrepancies
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, construction teams, and clients
  • Ensure surveys comply with legal standards, codes, and regulations
  • Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment
  • Analyze survey data and convert it into usable formats (CAD/GIS)
  • Provide technical advice on land use, site planning, and feasibility

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Professional surveyor license or certification (as required by jurisdiction)
  • Strong knowledge of surveying methods, instruments, and software
  • Proficiency in CAD and/or GIS software
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Experience

  • Entry-level to senior positions available depending on role
  • Prior field surveying experience preferred

Work Environment

  • Combination of outdoor fieldwork and office-based data analysis
  • May involve travel to project sites
