Position :- Sushi Chef

Location :- Abu Dhabi

Job Description :-The Sushi Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and other Japanese dishes in accordance with traditional methods and modern trends. This role requires creativity, precision, and a deep understanding of sushi preparation, hygiene standards, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities :-

Prepare and present sushi dishes including Nigiri, Maki, Sashimi, and specialty rolls.

Select fresh, high-quality seafood and ingredients while ensuring proper storage and handling.

Ensure consistency in portion size, presentation, and flavor for all dishes.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the sushi station and follow food safety regulations.

Interact with customers at sushi bars (if applicable), taking special requests and ensuring an excellent dining experience.

Monitor inventory, prepare supply orders, and reduce food wastage.

Train and guide junior kitchen staff or assistants when necessary.

Keep up to date with new trends, techniques, and sushi menu ideas.

Qualifications :-

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel.

Strong knife skills and knowledge of sushi preparation techniques.

Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.

Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for Japanese cuisine.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Culinary degree or formal training in Japanese cuisine is an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with omakase or live sushi stations.

Multilingual abilities, especially in Japanese or English, are a plus (if customer-facing).What’s Next?
