Sushijin in Silver Spring (Looking for servers)

Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Sushijin (Sushi Servers) to join our vibrant team in Silver Spring. As a key member of our restaurant, you will deliver exceptional guest experiences by providing attentive, friendly, and professional service in a lively, upscale environment. Your role will involve showcasing your expertise in sushi and Japanese cuisine, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met, and creating memorable dining moments for our guests. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food service, hospitality, and delivering top-tier customer care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them through the menu, highlighting sushi options and specials to enhance their dining experience
  • Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring quick and efficient processing
  • Serve sushi and other Japanese dishes with precision, maintaining presentation standards and food safety protocols
  • Upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales while providing personalized recommendations based on guest preferences
  • Manage table turnover efficiently by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and assisting with food preparation when needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any guest concerns promptly to foster guest satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant or food service experience, particularly in fine dining or sushi establishments, is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for order processing and cashiering
  • Strong knowledge of food safety procedures, sanitation standards, and proper food handling techniques
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude and the ability to engage guests effectively
  • Ability to manage time efficiently during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and sales upselling strategies
  • Experience with food industry tools like serving trays, utensils, and restaurant equipment is a plus
