Job Description:

The Sustainability PM role is a strategic position focused on integrating environmental initiatives into Amazon's building lifecycle. This position serves as the critical link between sustainability goals and execution, managing data collection and analysis for carbon reduction, water conservation, and waste management across large-scale construction portfolios including fulfillment centers, sort centers, and delivery stations. The role combines technical expertise in green building practices with strong project coordination skills, requiring the ability to conduct detailed design reviews, deploy carbon tracking mechanisms across EU projects, and develop comprehensive reporting dashboards. Key responsibilities include overseeing EC3 (Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator) implementation, validating pilot programs for carbon optimization, and ensuring compliance with sustainability standards through systematic database management and stakeholder engagement. . The position demands both independent execution capability and collaborative partnership with pre-construction and construction managers, sustainability program managers, and cross-functional teams to drive Amazon's environmental commitments forward through actionable data insights and strategic program development.

Expected deliverables:

  • Weekly updates to central Buildings database; assurance of data accuracy.
  • Enhancements to central Buildings database, including visualizations and additional metric.
  • Outreach/ notification plan for key project milestones across the three miles.
  • Design review comments for sites as needed.
  • EC3 training materials, SOPs and follow up on sites reporting.
  • Meeting minutes/notes from EC3 training.
  • Monthly carbon reporting and documentation.
  • Documentation of optimization results, cost savings, and lessons learned.
  • White papers (as needed).
  • Carbon modeling support for in-flight construction projects.

Required qualifications/certifications:

➢ Basic qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

- 7+ years of demonstrated experience in construction project management, real estate development, architecture/design with a Sustainability focus.

- 7+ years of program or project management experience.

- Experience with sustainability-focused financial modeling and ROI analysis.

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.

- Demonstrated success in stakeholder management across organizational levels, with proven ability to deliver results independently in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.

- Strong collaborative skills, demonstrating success in driving alignment on complex topics across large, cross-functional teams and initiatives.

➢ Preferred qualifications:

- Advanced degree (MBA, MS, etc.) LEED Accredited Professional, PE, CEM, LFA, or other building professional accreditation - Experience reading and interpreting building engineering drawings.

- 10+ years of demonstrated Green building experience and demonstrated industryleading sustainability design and construction. - English language proficiency.

Data Management & Visualization (Smartsheet, Excel, QuickSight). Carbon & Sustainability Tracking, EC3 (Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator). AI and automation tools (for data management and digitization)
