Sustainable Finance Officer

This is an entry-level role with the aim of meeting the regulatory requirements for sustainable finance, assist in seeking new business opportunities in E&S and assist in setting the new policies.

Main accountabilities:

Business

• Assist corporate customers in their transformation plans
• Raise the clients’ awareness on new trends that will affect their business; CBAM, ESG & Climate risk by conducting calls and/or events.
• Collaborate with different functions to create and roll out all new sustainable finance products in coordination with retail and corporate business development team.

Regulator requirements & reporting

• Gathering, analyzing, and presenting data related to the organization's sustainable finance performance.
• Submitting to the CBE on quarterly basis the quantitative reports for sustainable finance customers.
• Submitting to the CBE on semiannual basis the Sustainable finance guiding principles vs AWBE progress.
• Assist in the preparation of sustainability, GHG reports....etc when required.
• Work with the IT department to automate the generation of the CBE reports.
• Prepare briefings and necessary reports, presentations and data on sustainable finance to highlight bank’s position to different stakeholders.

Policies and ESG

• Assists the different functions in setting the required policies and SOP
• Assign Environmental consultants to produce the Environment and Social impact reports based on front office/risk request.
• Conducting semi-annually review on the portfolio to ensure that the policy has been implemented.

Shareholders engagement

• Follow up on the implementation of the action plan of the various stakeholders and monitor KPI’s (Risk, front office, HR, shared services, operations, CSR, Financial inclusion..etc.).
• Work with the sustainability champions from different functions to lead the change of S&SF agenda and on the preparation of the sustainability report.
• Ensure that the bank is making progress regarding the sustainability of its operation

Capacity building

• Follow up on the implementation of the training plan
• Raise awareness across the bank on S&SF.

• Ability to manage sustainability project

Knowledge, Expertise and Experience

Essential

• Bachelor degree in sustainability, environmental science, finance, economics, business
• Have an understanding of finance fundamentals
• Excellent networking skills and stakeholder management
• Excellent writing skills
• Sustainable finance certification is a plus
• GRI training/ certification is a plus
