POSITION SUMMARY:
The YMCA of Greenwich is looking for an organized, people-first Swim School Coordinator to keep our aquatics programs running smoothly. You'll be the operational backbone of our swim school help in managing schedules, supporting instructors, serving families, and helping create an environment where every swimmer feels welcome and every parent feels confident.

Director of Aquatic Programming and Development
PAY RANGE:
$18/hour – $22/hour (based on experience and certification)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Program Operations

Build and maintain class schedules to maximize enrollment, instructor coverage, and pool time

Track registrations, attendance, and program data with accuracy and consistency

Identify and implement program improvements based on participant feedback and outcomes

Support special events, swim meets, and other aquatics activities as needed
Member Experience

Serve as the primary point of contact for families and members with questions about aquatics programs

Respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries promptly and professionally

Resolve concerns with empathy and follow-through, escalating when appropriate

Foster a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere that reflects the YMCA's mission and values
Team & Administration

Collaborate with aquatics leadership on scheduling, staffing coverage, and program planning

Attend staff meetings and participate in required trainings

Maintain organized records to support reporting and compliance needs
QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or relevant certification preferred

Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role; experience in aquatics or recreational programming is a plus

Previous experience with Microsoft Office and scheduling software

Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently as part of a team in a fast paced environment

Current CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred but not required)

Previous experience in swimming or aquatics programs (preferred)

Available weekdays/weekends

Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people of all ages
