DUTIES
- Teaching swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to customers of all ages and groups
- Teaching swimming skills like flips, kicks, body rolls, floating, and breath control.
- Educating customers on water safety and providing lifesaving training sessions.
- Using a range of activities, music to improve water confidence.
- Identifying incorrect swimming techniques and correcting customers accordingly.
- Teach, organize and supervise water aerobics fitness classes for customers consisting of various age groups and abilities.
- Instructs customers on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
- Developing and implementing swimming programs that focus on improving technique, stroke placement, speed, and style.
- Ensuring the pool, lockers and training area is clean, well-maintained, and free of hazards.
- Perform other/related duties as assigned.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- High school diploma.
- Completed courses in swimming instruction, CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety Instructor or Basic Swim Instructor (BSI) certifications.
- At least two (2-3) years of proven experience working as a swimming trainer.
- Must demonstrate the ability to develop a swimming programs for diversified group of customers.
- Ability to demonstrate effective water aerobic exercise skills and to communicate directions effectively.
- Knowledge of safe exercise technique and able to incorporate music, tempo, techniques, and rhythm.
- Maintains a professional attitude towards customers, fellow instructors and staff members.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
