Job Description:
- The Technical Team Leader is responsible for managing a cross functional team focused on the definition and development of next generation propulsion systems.
- They will be accountable for the technical development and refinement of the propulsion system of reference
- Leads risk management and issue resolution with internal counterparts, expertise network and supplier team
- Leads cross functional team members to support the V-development process through simulation activities
- Interfaces with engine, controls, transmission hardware, vehicle platform, powertrain synthesis and other cross functional teams
- Leads the lessons learned of issues until the appropriate update of standards, tools definition and methodologies occurs
- Communicates regularly through oral presentations and written reports to Chief Engineers, COEs, Component Engineers and others including Propulsion Systems management
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in product development (preferably in the automotive area) simulating ICE (internal combustion engine) hybrid and/or electrified propulsion systems
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft office products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of vehicle Propulsion Systems including transmissions, axles, drivelines, batteries, and electric motors
- Thorough knowledge of commercial simulation/coding SW including, but not limited to: MATLAB /Simulink, GT Suite or AMESim
- Thorough knowledge of vehicle system design process
- Thorough knowledge in the disciplines of hybrid control strategies or energy management optimization
- Thorough knowledge in the disciplines of fluid dynamics and heat transfer
- Thorough knowledge of commercial codes including, but not limited to, MATLAB /Simulink, Stateflow, and Simulink coder
- General knowledge of commercial CAD packages including NX and Teamcenter
