Director of Information Systems – Carthage & Ogdensburg, NY

Compensation & Benefits
Wage Range: $74.27 – $98.41 per hour
Relocation: Relocation package included for the Carthage/Ogdensburg area

Position Overview
The Director of Information Systems provides executive IT leadership for our multi-site healthcare system spanning Carthage and Ogdensburg campuses. You will oversee network infrastructure, spearhead cybersecurity strategy, optimize clinical EHR workflows, and manage vendor contracts to ensure seamless, HIPAA-compliant patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic IT Leadership: Align technology capital planning with hospital operations and advise executive leadership on emerging tech.
Multi-Site Operations: Direct network infrastructure, system upgrades, and disaster recovery across Carthage and Ogdensburg facilities.
EHR Optimization: Partner with clinical and revenue cycle leaders to maximize electronic health record efficiency.
Cybersecurity & Compliance: Lead risk mitigation, execute data safety assessments, and enforce HIPAA, HITECH, and CMS rules.
Budget & Vendors: Manage departmental operating budgets and negotiate third-party technology contracts.
Team Mentorship: Recruit and manage information systems staff to maintain a service-oriented IT support desk.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
Experience: 5–7 years of progressive information systems leadership experience.
Industry Core: Mandatory healthcare IT background with multi-site, EHR, and cybersecurity infrastructure management.
Mobility: Must be able to travel regularly between the Carthage, NY and Ogdensburg, NY campuses.
Preferred Qualifications
Rural Healthcare: Direct experience supporting Critical Access Hospitals or rural health clinics.
Certifications: CHCIO, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or PMP.
