System Engineer

Role Purpose

The Systems Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise systems and applications, with a focus on Liferay, Odoo, Maximo, and Java-based platforms. The role ensures system availability, performance, integration, and continuous improvement to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise systems including Liferay, Odoo, and Maximo.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high system availability.
• Perform upgrades, patches, and release deployments for supported applications.
• Manage user access, permissions, and security configurations.
• Maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

Application Support & Development

• Provide operational support for Java-based applications, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Support application integration, APIs, and data flows between systems.
• Work with development teams to support customizations, extensions, and new features.
• Develop and maintain scripts or automation tools to improve operational efficiency.

Service Management

• Provide L2/L3 support for system incidents, service requests, and change requests.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for problem resolution and enhancements.
• Participate in IT projects covering system implementation, migration, and integration.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and IT policies.

Maintenance & Optimization

• Conduct system capacity planning and performance monitoring.
• Support backup/restore procedures, DR testing, and business continuity initiatives.
• Recommend improvements to system reliability, maintainability, and security.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 2–4 years experience supporting enterprise applications and systems.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with:
• Liferay DXP
• Odoo
• Maximo
• Java-based applications
• Familiarity with Linux/Windows OS administration.
• Basic understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Understanding of APIs, Web Services (REST/SOAP), and integration concepts.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
