System Engineer – Electrical

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced System Engineer – Electrical to lead the design, development, integration, and validation of electrical and electronic systems for marine platforms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrical architecture, power distribution systems, touchscreen displays, marine audio, lighting systems, and hardware/software validation.
Required Skills & Responsibilities
Electrical Architecture & Power Distribution

  • Lead electrical architecture design for complete boat platforms
  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness layouts, grounding, and bonding systems
  • Design and support Power Distribution Module (PDM) based power management systems
  • Configure load prioritization, fault protection, redundancy strategies, and diagnostics
  • Transition traditional fuse/relay systems to modern digital and solid-state power distribution solutions
  • Integrate PDM controllers with touchscreen displays, digital switching, audio, lighting, and CAN networks
  • Design power distribution systems for ballast controls, surf/wake systems, helm electronics, marine audio, lighting, and onboard accessories
  • Specify batteries, charging systems, ECUs, sensors, actuators, and related electrical components
  • Displays, UI/UX & Digital Systems
  • Integrate touchscreen displays, helm controls, and digital user interfaces
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on UI/UX development
  • Support display software configuration and system interaction logic
  • Implement user diagnostics, system monitoring, and power management interfaces

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lead hardware and software validation activities
  • Create validation plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and software integration issues
  • Ensure compliance with NMMA, ABYC, USCG, and marine industry standards
  • Support certification testing, audits, and technical documentation
  • Integrate and validate marine audio systems including amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, DSPs, and zone controls
  • Design interior, exterior, tower, underwater, RGB, and zone-based lighting systems
  • Optimize system performance, reliability, EMI compliance, and user experience
  • Work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Quality teams
  • Support production launches and field issue resolution
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
  • Strong experience in Electrical System Design and Architecture
  • Knowledge of CAN Networks and Digital Switching Systems
  • Experience with Power Distribution Modules (PDM)
  • Expertise in Hardware/Software Validation and Testing
  • Familiarity with Marine Industry Standards (NMMA, ABYC, USCG)
  • Experience with Marine Audio and Lighting Systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration skills

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
