Ensuring system availability, performance, and security through advanced support services.

Using AI and analytics to anticipate and resolve issues before they impact business operations.

Providing multivendor support to simplify IT maintenance with a single point of contact.

Collaborating closely with product design engineers to offer deep technical expertise and tailored solutions.

Extending the lifecycle of IBM systems like IBM Storage , IBM Power, IBM Z, and IBM LinuxONE through service extensions .

Onsite Engineer Responsibilities

Strong AIX OS expertise, IBM Power Systems hardware knowledge, virtualization skills (LPARs, VIOS), storage management, and excellent problem-solving abilities

System Setup & Configuration
-
Connecting to AIX System Console (local and remote)
-
Using SMIT (System Management Interface Tool)
-
Managing devices and attributes
-
Handling boot and shutdown sequences
-
Installing fixes and update
-
Build and configure AIX/ Linux infrastructure for projects and BAU
Storage Management
-
Understanding and managing LVM (Logical Volume Manager)
-
Creating and maintaining file systems
-
Handling raw physical volumes
-
System Security
-
Managing users, groups, and permissions
-
Implementing basic system security policies
-
Performance Tuning
-
Identifying performance bottlenecks (CPU, RAM, I/O)
-
Understanding virtual memory management (VMM)
-
Monitoring paging space and system tuneable
-
Problem Determination
-
Using tools like errpt, syslog, alog, and diag
-
Troubleshooting boot errors and login issues
-
Generating support files for IBM

Required technical and professional expertise

Provide technical guidance on IBM Infrastructure including Power/ Storage.

Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of AIX Server and Linux distributions.

Server Hardware: Familiarity with server hardware components, including CPUs, memory, storage, and networking devices.

Networking: Understanding of networking concepts like DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
-
Virtualization: Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V.

Troubleshooting: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Project Management: Ability to manage projects and work independently.

Security: Understanding of security best practices and experience with security tools.
