Systems Administrator

Overview

Systems Administrators are the Information Technology employees responsible for the efficient use of networks by organizations. They ensure that the design of an organization’s computer site allows all components, including computers, the network, and software, to fit together and work properly. They provide day-to-day onsite network support. They maintain network hardware and software, analyze problems, and monitor the network to ensure availability to system user Security.

Duties

• System monitoring and maintenance including configuration & security management, patching, automation, hardening and system upgrades. To be coordinated with APAC IT
• Ensuring overall system and server uptime, availability, reliability and security
• Maintain network hardware (VM Server, Backup Server, File Server, WSUS Server), Switches, IPT, Network Optimizer Device WAN Connection, , Copiers, WLAN, CCTV Systems, Access Control Systems, & etc.)
• Maintain Server Software’s. Ensure windows security updates/patch, McAfee antivirus software updates are installed
• Monitor and maintain network equipment UPS battery
• Maintain client hardware (Desktop, Laptop). Install, modify, clean and repair computer hardware (monitors, keyboards, printers, and mice) and software. Knowledge in clean install of Windows OS and imaging software.
• Maintain company iPhone (Hardware/Software). Provide support.
• Provide support on Operation Departments in-house hand held radios
• Maintain client workstations software (Virus Updates, Windows Updates, MS Office Updates, MSOS Core apps, Corporate/Regional apps, etc.).
• Administration of Network & Local Users Profiles and access.
• Maintain network file server backups (Daily) & Restores (If needed). Knowledge in Veeam Backup & Replication software.
• Inventory of workstations and other IT equipments.
• Maintain and updates IT Documents (Network Diagrams, Floor Plans, Port Layout, Rack Layout, etc.)
• Provide support for airline customer web base catering systems
• Provide software support on Catering Application), SAPMM (basic), Time Attendance System MS Office basic (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email, MS Teams), etc.
• Monitor and Troubleshot GUM MPLS Primary & Backup Network Data line
• Monitor and Troubleshot SPN Primary Network Data line
• Review IT related purchases/expenses.
• Maintain licensing and upgrades.
• Assist Finance department in any ways to complete month end reporting to head office.

Experience

• Proven experience in system administration within complex IT environments involving Windows Server, Linux/Unix systems, or both.
• Strong knowledge of system architecture design principles including solution architecture for enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure along with virtualization technologies like VMware or ESXi.
• Familiarity with scripting languages including Bash (Unix shell), Python, PowerShell for automation purposes.
• Understanding of computer networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, VPNs, load balancing techniques, and network security measures.
• Experience managing NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB is a plus; familiarity with SQL databases including MySQL or PostgreSQL is essential.
• Knowledge of modern development practices including Agile/Scrum frameworks; experience with tools like Git, Jenkins for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in information security principles to protect systems against cyber threats; experience implementing firewalls and access controls is highly desirable. SKILLS:

• Proficient in the use of English language (written and oral).
• Working knowledge of virtualization software, VMWare, or equivalent
• Working knowledge of Windows OS software (Server & Computer), Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Apple iPhone IOS, etc.
• Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
• Experience with scripting and automation tools
• Possess good analytical & debugging skills
• Good communications and organizational skills.
• Able to make independent, well thought out decisions.
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
• Understands business implication of decisions.
• Develops and implements cost saving and operational improvement measures.
• Flexible work schedule (some repair and install must be done during night shift, so that to not interrupt users computer use)
• Dependable attendance and promptly reports to work.

REQUIREMENT:

• Preferably with bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, IT systems management, or any other related field.
• Preferably with certification programs with a core emphasis on hardware, computer networks, and system administration

The noise level at the alternative job site may occasionally be moderate to high.
