Systems Analyst I

The Systems Analyst I provides technical and analytical support to the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) – Facilities Services Directorate (FSD). The Analyst assists in the design, development, and integration of system solutions supporting FSD programs and mission requirements. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to perform research, design evaluation, and system integration tasks under general supervision. The Analyst applies knowledge of technical principles and practices to ensure the successful execution of complex engineering and system initiatives.


Essential Functions

  • Support the planning, analysis, design, and integration of technical systems in support of WHS-FSD operations and objectives.
  • Perform system studies, analyses, and evaluations to assess performance, identify issues, and recommend enhancements.
  • Conduct research and apply findings to improve system design and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in developing system specifications, integration plans, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support for system testing, troubleshooting, and configuration management.
  • Support the review and evaluation of design documents, reports, and system performance data.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment between system solutions and mission goals.
  • Participate in developing technical briefings, reports, and presentations for management review.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and assess their applicability to FSD requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD standards, security requirements, and quality assurance processes.
  • Perform other related technical and analytical duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in systems analysis, system design, or integration within a DoD or federal environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of system development life cycle (SDLC) processes and system engineering principles.
  • Experience supporting complex technical or engineering projects requiring multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.

Citizenship and Security Clearance

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • An Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
