Description
SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)). This role requires an active Secret clearance and provides hybrid work flexibility, with on-site support required at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA.
Responsibilities:

Support systems engineering activities across requirements analysis, architecture development, and technical integration.

Develop system-level documentation including requirements, interface definitions, technical specifications, and engineering plans.

Evaluate system performance, identify risks or gaps, and recommend technical solutions.
Coordinate with stakeholders to capture mission needs and translate them into actionable system requirements. -
Assist in systems planning, trade studies, engineering reviews, and technical assessments.
Provide technical support for capability development, modernization efforts, and technology transition activities. -
Prepare engineering briefings, reports, and decision-support materials for senior leadership.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Active Secret clearance.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
-
3–5 years of experience in systems engineering, system integration, or technical program support.

Experience developing requirements, conducting analysis, or supporting systems architecture activities.

Familiarity with systems engineering frameworks, methodologies, or lifecycle processes.

Experience supporting technical or government programs.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Technical Skills:

Experience with requirements management tools or modeling environments (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, SysML).
