Lutron is seeking a Tactical Buyer to join our Materials Team at our warehousing facility in the Lehigh Valley. This role is part of our Corporate Operations group and offers an opportunity to grow professionally while maintaining our market position as the world leader in smart lighting and shading systems.
As a Tactical Buyer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of materials that support our operations. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, manage supplier relationships, and help drive continuous improvement in our supply chain processes. You’ll be trained by industry experts and gain exposure to best practices in a collaborative environment.
Execute and manage purchase orders (POs), including handling exceptions, deferrals, and expedite requests.
Monitor supplier performance and ensure on-time delivery (OTD) through proactive communication and follow-up.
Track and report key metrics such as MRP execution, material shortages, and past-due invoices.
Maintain optimal inventory levels and address procurement delays or shortages.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accurate material planning and order fulfillment.
Resolve supplier issues, expedite deliveries, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Maintain and update reports and trackers (e.g., customs POs, deferrals, cancellations).
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field.
Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned
Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing or materials management.
Proven analytical skills with proficiency in purchasing and manufacturing processes.
Understanding of MRP systems, bill of materials, and procurement processes.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
APICS CPIM certification – preferred.
