Job Title: Tailor

Job Summary:
The Tailor is responsible for creating, altering, and finishing garments, decorative fabrics, and event-related textile items according to the design specifications of The Planner. The role ensures high-quality craftsmanship and timely completion of all tailoring tasks for events and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, sew, and assemble fabrics according to approved designs, patterns, and specifications.
- Alter and adjust garments or decorative textile pieces to ensure proper fit and finish.
- Maintain the quality of sewing, stitching, and finishing, adhering to The Planner’s standards.
- Read and interpret design sketches, patterns, and technical specifications accurately.
- Collaborate with designers, production team, and other tailors to meet project timelines.
- Maintain sewing machines, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
- Keep track of fabric inventory, ensuring minimal wastage and proper storage.
- Assist in creating custom-made items for clients as per event requirements.
- Ensure all completed items are inspected for quality before delivery or setup.
- Follow safety and hygiene procedures while handling fabrics and tools.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a tailor or in a similar role in event production, fashion, or garment making.
- Proficient in using industrial and household sewing machines.
- Ability to read and interpret patterns, sketches, and technical instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Good time management skills and ability to work under deadlines.
- Knowledge of different types of fabrics and tailoring techniques.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced event production environment with occasional urgent tasks.
- Collaboration with designers, production teams, and decorators.
