Context

UNV mobilizes UN Volunteers and Online Volunteers to meet the needs of UN partners and host organizations by building diverse talent pools and ensuring a positive application experience. At the country level, UNV Field Units work closely with UN Country Teams to position UNV services and solutions, fostering collaboration with government, civil society, and private sector stakeholders. Hosted within UNDP offices, UNV personnel ensure compliance with UNV and UNDP policies while supporting peace, development, and humanitarian initiatives. This assignment focuses on strengthening local talent acquisition to align with partner priorities and enhance volunteer mobilization.

Living conditions and remarks

The duty station is Cairo, Egypt. UN Specialist Volunteer gets the following package: • Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance = USD 1258 • Entry Lump-Sum = USD 400 (one-time payment) • Exit Allowance (paid on successful completion of the assignment) • Medical and life Insurance premium/Cigna (100%) and dependents policy. • Access to UNV E-Campus for training and learning including access to LinkedIn learning. Description of Duties

  • Assist in sourcing qualified national talent based on demand forecasts and strategic priorities.
  • Identify and optimize local talent channels, including outreach to underrepresented groups.
  • Track sourcing activities in UNV’s CRM system and support testing of new approaches.
  • Contribute to volunteer demand forecasting and fit-gap analyses.
  • Build partnerships with universities, associations, and community groups to expand outreach.
  • Support planning and implementation of local engagement events and campaigns.
  • Help develop strategic talent pools and maintain accurate candidate information.
  • Ensure a positive applicant experience through clear communication and timely updates.
  • Provide feedback and assist in improving inclusivity and diversity in recruitment processes.

Profile Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, communications, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in recruitment, talent sourcing, or outreach; experience with partnerships and communications is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with local labor markets and CRM or recruitment systems preferred.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office); previous volunteer or international organization experience is an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
