Tasting Room Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Tasting Room Manager to lead our customer experience at The Barrelhouse. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily operations, curating memorable wine tastings, and ensuring exceptional service that delights every guest. As a key ambassador for our brand, you will foster a welcoming atmosphere, manage staff, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and hospitality. Your passion for fine dining, food handling, and customer service will drive the success of our tasting room and elevate our visitors’ experience.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Oversee daily restaurant and bar operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to company standards
  • Maintain a welcoming, safe, and professional environment for guests and staff
  • Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper setup of all guest-facing areas

Staff Leadership & Management

  • Hire, train, coach, and supervise front-of-house staff including spirit specialists and kitchen staff
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage while controlling labor costs
  • Lead by example during shifts, maintaining high service and hospitality standards
  • Conduct staff meetings, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and workplace expectations

Food & Beverage Oversight

  • Work closely with the spirit specialists and kitchen staff on menus, pricing, and inventory
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with all ABC and local regulations
  • Monitor beverage quality, consistency, and presentation
  • Support bottle-to-go sales, tastings, and cocktail promotions

Inventory, Cash & Administrative Duties

  • Conducts daily and monthly inventory counts
  • Orders and manages inventory of beer, wine, liquor, food, non-perishables, and bar supplies
  • Monitor waste, breakage, and product usage
  • Handle cash management, deposits, and end-of-day reports
  • Track sales performance and assist with reporting to CEO

Events & Collaboration

  • Create, plan, and coordinate on-site events, live music, festivals, and private bookings
  • Coordinate with Events, Marketing, and Distillery teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Assist with setup, staffing, and breakdown for special events

Skills

  • Proven experience in fine dining or hospitality environments with a focus on customer service excellence
  • Strong background in food handling, food safety protocols, and beverage service
  • Experience in serving, catering, or banquet settings with attention to detail and professionalism
  • Knowledge of the food industry, including dietary accommodations and food preparation techniques
  • Barista experience or familiarity with beverage crafting is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate guests about products confidently
  • Leadership skills to motivate team members and manage busy service periods effectively

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
