Good-to-Have Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s in Taxation, CPA, CMA, CA, CMI (Certified Member of the Institute) is a strong plus.
- Experience: 4+ years of core experience specializing in multi-state Sales and Use tax compliance and tax accounting, preferably within a corporate environment or public accounting firm.
- ERP Expertise: Hands-on experience navigating and extracting transaction data from Oracle ERP modules (AR, AP, GL) is mandatory.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of US indirect tax law principles, general ledger tax accounting mechanics (accruals, provisions, reconciliations), and structural tax engine mapping.
Job Responsibility
We are seeking an analytically minded, compliance-driven Senior Sales & Use Tax Accountant with over 4 years of dedicated indirect tax and tax accounting experience. In this role, you will be the operational anchor for our transactional tax function, managing end-to-end multi-state sales tax compliance, use tax self-assessments, and corporate tax accounting reconciliations.
The ideal candidate possesses a sharp understanding of evolving tax laws (such as economic nexus and marketplace facilitator rules) and combines this with strong technical accounting skills. You will leverage Oracle ERP integrated with indirect tax engines to ensure balance sheet precision, manage tax provisions, and mitigate audit risks.
