Job Description – Tax Accountant (UAE Taxation)

Position Title: Tax Accountant
Department: Accounts (Overseas – Pakistan)
Reporting To: Accounts Manager / Financial Controller
Location: Overseas Hub (Pakistan) / UAE (as required)

Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to manage and ensure full compliance with UAE tax regulations across all group entities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling VAT, Corporate Tax, Economic Substance Regulations (ESR), Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) filings, and transfer pricing documentation, while supporting the organization in minimizing tax risks and maintaining compliance with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).

Key ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance

  • Prepare, review, and submit quarterly VAT returns for all UAE-registered entities accurately and within statutory deadlines.
  • Prepare Corporate Tax computations and manage Corporate Tax filings in compliance with UAE regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, Economic Substance Regulations (ESR), and Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive tax compliance calendar to ensure timely submission of all tax-related filings.

Regulatory & FTA Coordination

  • Liaise with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regarding tax queries, audits, assessments, and official correspondence.
  • Monitor changes in UAE tax laws and regulations and communicate their impact to management and relevant departments.
  • Assist in responding to tax notices and regulatory requirements.

Tax Advisory & Documentation

  • Review financial transactions to ensure accurate VAT treatment, including standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt, and out-of-scope supplies.
  • Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation for intercompany transactions in accordance with UAE regulations.
  • Support external tax consultants during tax audits, health checks, voluntary disclosures, and compliance reviews.
  • Provide guidance to the Finance and Accounts team on tax-related matters and proper transaction coding.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare quarterly Corporate Tax provisions and annual tax workings.
  • Maintain accurate tax records and supporting documentation.
  • Identify tax risks and recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance.
  • Assist management with tax planning and compliance improvement initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely filing of ESR notifications and reports.
  • Prepare and submit UBO declarations where applicable.
  • Perform any other tax and finance-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • CA Finalist, ACCA, ACA, or a Tax Diploma will be preferred.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in taxation and financial accounting.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.
  • Experience dealing with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing documentation and UAE tax regulations.
