Job Title: Tax and Payroll Assistant

Department: Finance & Accounts
Location: Ferozepur Road, Lahore
Reporting to: Assistant Manager Payroll & Taxation

Position Summary:

The Tax and Payroll Assistant is responsible for supporting payroll processing, employee tax deductions, and compliance with all applicable tax laws and company policies. The role ensures accuracy, confidentiality, and timely disbursement of salaries while maintaining proper documentation and statutory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of monthly payroll for all employees.
  • Verify attendance, overtime, leaves, and other input data from HR and departments.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of earnings, deductions, and benefits.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data confidentiality.

Taxation & Compliance:

  • Support in calculating and deducting income tax as per government laws.
  • Prepare monthly tax challans and ensure timely deposit of withheld taxes.
  • Assist in preparing tax statements and filing monthly/annual returns (FBR).
  • Keep updated with changes in income tax laws and salary tax slabs.

Financial & Reporting Support:

  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts with the finance department.
  • Assist in preparing payroll cost reports and department-wise summaries.
  • Support external and internal audits by providing required payroll and tax records.
  • Maintain documentation for social security (PESSI), EOBI, and other statutory payments.

Coordination:

  • Coordinate with HR for employee data updates and payroll adjustments.
  • Respond to employee queries related to salary, tax, or deductions in a professional manner.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: B.Com / M.Com / BBA / MBA (Finance or Accounting).
  • Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience in payroll and taxation (manufacturing or corporate sector preferred).
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and MS Excel.
  • Understanding of Pakistan tax laws and payroll compliance.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
