We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Consultant to join our team and drive excellence in tax planning, compliance, and advisory services. Duties
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit entities with precision and attention to detail.
- Provide strategic advice on estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law to optimize clients’ financial legacy.
- Conduct thorough tax research on current laws such as securities law, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements.
- Assist clients with mergers & acquisitions by analyzing financial statements, performing due diligence, and advising on tax implications.
- Support clients in financial report writing and interpretation to facilitate sound decision-making.
- Reconcile accounts including general ledger reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools.
- Perform detailed analysis of financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, asset management, budgeting, and payroll processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Requirements
- Proven experience in tax accounting with a strong background in corporate accounting, public accounting or related fields.
- Extensive knowledge of tax experience including estate planning, non-profit accounting, regulatory reporting, and financial statement preparation.
- Familiarity with financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or other accounting platforms is essential.
- Strong understanding of GAAP standards along with technical accounting skills related to mergers & acquisitions and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex financial reports and concepts with clarity and precision.
- Excellent analysis skills with a keen eye for detail in account reconciliation and account analysis tasks.
- Ability to communicate complex tax strategies effectively to clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) are preferred but not mandatory.
