We are looking to hire a Tax Manager to lead and manage corporate tax, VAT, and e-invoicing compliance and advisory for our client based in Dubai - which is one of the largest semi-government organizations in the region. The role requires prior hands-on experience managing tax operations in both UAE and KSA markets.
This is the permanent role within the organization.
The role sits within the Tax Department and reports directly to the Finance Director.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of corporate tax and VAT compliance for UAE and KSA entities.
- Oversee the accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of tax returns and declarations.
- Ensure compliance with e-invoicing requirements in both UAE and KSA, including system setup and integration.
- Monitor and interpret changes in regional tax legislation and assess their business impact.
- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation to support audits and regulatory reviews.
Advisory & Planning
- Provide guidance on the tax implications of new business activities, contracts, and cross-border transactions.
- Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies within the regulatory framework.
- Advise on transfer pricing and intercompany transactions where applicable.
- Support business and finance teams with practical solutions to complex tax issues.
Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure strong internal controls and governance frameworks for tax compliance and reporting.
- Lead or support tax audits and inquiries from authorities in UAE and KSA.
- Identify potential tax risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Drive process automation and standardization for tax reporting and compliance.
- Collaborate with finance and IT teams to enhance ERP and e-invoicing system capabilities.
- Develop KPIs to monitor compliance performance and ensure efficiency in tax operations.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with internal finance, legal, and business teams on tax-related matters.
- Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and local authorities when required.
- Deliver training sessions to internal teams on tax updates and compliance awareness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (mandatory).
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, ACA, or CTA preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in tax management, with hands on exposure in both UAE and KSA.
- Strong technical knowledge of corporate tax, VAT, and e-invoicing regulations in the GCC.
- Experience in handling tax audits, filings, and advisory for multi entity or group structures.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and tax reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Previous experience in a Big 4 firm or large regional group is an advantage.
