Taxi Dispatcher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Taxi Dispatcher to coordinate and manage the efficient dispatching of taxi services. In this vital role, you will serve as the communication hub between drivers, passengers, and operations, ensuring timely pickups and smooth transportation flow. Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize incoming ride requests via multi-line phone systems, mobile apps, or radio communication.
• Assign trips to drivers based on proximity, availability, and traffic conditions utilizing GPS and transportation management systems.
• Monitor vehicle locations using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS technology to ensure efficient routing and timely pickups.
• Maintain accurate data entry of dispatch records, trip details, and driver logs using systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, or AS400.
• Communicate clearly with drivers and passengers through phone etiquette and professional messaging to provide updates or resolve issues promptly.
• Coordinate with shipping & receiving departments for freight movements when applicable, ensuring seamless logistics flow.

Skills

• Strong understanding of GPS navigation tools, and transportation management systems.
• Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and clear verbal instructions.
• Confidence with Google workspace is preffered
• Detail orientated
• Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, phone systems
• Analysis skills to interpret transportation data for operational improvements.
