TCC Implementation Consultant, ASCENDER Business Applications

JOB SUMMARY: Provide state-wide Texas Computer Cooperative (TCC) business software applications product implementation training, support, and technical assistance to regional education service center (ESC) consultants who assist Local Education Agencies within their regions with implementing and utilizing the ASCENDER enterprise system.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES


Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required; major in business or information systems preferred.
  • Three to five years of relevant school or regional education service center business office experience (e.g., human resources, payroll, budget, finance, purchasing, etc.) required.
  • Three to five years of experience supporting school business administrative software required including creating user-focused documentation and training materials for adult learners
  • Knowledge of state and federal rules and reporting requirements and the use of business application software for compliance.

Skills/Abilities
  • Proficiency in school business processes and software applications; systems analyst-level knowledge preferred.
  • Demonstrated skill in a variety of staff development techniques.
  • Proficient in facilitation coaching, and staff development in various group settings
  • Proficiency with standard functions within applications such as Microsoft 365/Google, (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software), e-mail, web browsers, and databases.
  • Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include file and desktop management and operations, and working in a cloud-based and/or networked environment.

  • Exceptions to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training, and record of success.

PRODUCTS/OUTCOMES
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the inter-relationship between the ASCENDER enterprise system software application suite and serve as a subject matter expert for recommending best practices for client implementation.
  • Demonstrate expertise in school business office processes and make connections to the use of ASCENDER business applications to support those processes.
  • Develop and deliver product training for the ASCENDER enterprise system business software applications to regional ESC Consultants across the state of Texas.
  • Facilitate and support regional ESC consultant groups in moving through product training content in a way that builds capacity for making effective decisions regarding assisting LEAs with implementing ASCENDER business applications software.
  • Continuously evaluate and provide recommendations for standardizing training for regional ESC consultants across ASCENDER business applications.
  • Design and develop content and provide input related to the creation of statewide business application product support videos.
  • Provide a variety of state-wide product implementation support and technical assistance to meet the needs of regional ESC consultants.
  • Support the marketing of ASCENDER across the state and ensure clients are aware of services offered.
  • Learn and remain current on business software application product features and functions in order to provide updated and relevant training regarding product features and use.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product development initiatives and trends.
  • Ensure regional ESC consultants are informed and trained on business software applications updates and enhancements.
  • Read and interpret technical material.
  • Interpret state and federal laws and rules applicable to the use of ASCENDER business software applications and processes.

SUPERVISION AND ORGANIZATION OF STAFF
  • None

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY
  • Be aware of and follow Center guidelines of allowable costs when recommending use of public funds for expenditures for supplies, equipment, and facilities in area of assignment.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer, peripherals, copy machine, phone, etc.
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional standing, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
  • Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
  • Lifting: Light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); occasional heavy lifting/carrying (15–50 pounds).
  • Environment: This role primarily operates in an in-person, dynamic office setting, characterized by frequent verbal communication, movement, and collaboration among team members (small to large in-person gatherings/meetings); exposure to low or intense illumination; exposure to office equipment noise; may work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional travel; and, occasional remote work (after pre-determined length of employment).
  • Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Champion and model the Center’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Service Standards.
  • Function within the policies and procedures of ESC-20.
  • Accept other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Dress and groom appropriately for the ESC-20 work setting.
  • Travel independently to fulfill responsibilities of the position.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, majority in-person/onsite.
  • Serve at the will of the Executive Director.
