The Physical Education/ Health Teacher focuses on physical education (PE) and health education using a variety of hands-on learning methods focused on the learning styles of the populations we serve. The PE/Health Teacher will deliver PE/Health education through classroom facilitation using a combination of verbal, written and practical exercises to engage students. The PE/Health Teacher will have access to a gymnasium, outdoor track and field, as well as a classroom.
Pine Hills School is located inside the secure facility at Pine Hills Youth Correctional Facility. School is provided to youth offenders 12 months of the year. The position serves as a positive role model to the youth population, encouraging positive behavior and academic achievements.
QUALIFICATIONS
The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
Bachelor’s degree in education
Must be a State of Montana certified secondary teacher with a PE/Health endorsement
Two years of job-related experience preferred
Experience in a correctional environment is highly desired
Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Tobacco Free - The use of all tobacco products, including smokeless tobacco products and tobacco substitutes is prohibited in Department of Corrections buildings. In secure care facilities possession of tobacco products is prohibited.
