Elementary School Teacher (Grades K–5th) for Private School

We are seeking a passionate, caring, and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to join our team in delivering an exceptional educational experience for our young scholars.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will foster a safe, positive, and identity-affirming learning environment that encourages both academic achievement and personal growth. In this role, you will leverage small class sizes to provide individualized attention, deliver engaging hands-on learning, and build strong foundations in reading and math. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the community to nurture every child's potential.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum:

  • Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans with a strong focus on core foundations in reading and math.
  • Integrate hands-on learning, enrichment activities, and classroom technology to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Provide early intervention and tailored instruction for students requiring additional academic support, including those with IEP's.

Classroom Culture & Environment:

  • Maintain a safe, structured, caring, and nurturing classroom environment where character development is prioritized.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive, encouraging management techniques.
  • Keep the classroom, designated restrooms, and common learning areas clean, disinfected, and organized at all times.
  • Organize and utilize classroom library resources to enhance literacy education.

Assessment & Progress Tracking:

  • Conduct ongoing assessments and evaluations to monitor student academic growth and character development.
  • Use data to refine instructional strategies and address individual student needs.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Maintain open, proactive communication with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow educators on curriculum alignment and effective classroom management strategies.
  • Mentor and encourage students in their academic pursuits and personal character growth.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education & Certifications: * Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (State Teaching Certification preferred, but not required).
  • 3 or more years of lead classroom teaching experience in an elementary or early childhood setting.

Instructional Experience:

  • Proven experience in elementary curriculum development, lesson planning, and childhood development principles.
  • Strong foundation in early literacy and math instruction.
  • Experience with diverse learners, including students on the autism spectrum or those requiring early intervention.
  • Familiarity with student-centered teaching methodologies (e.g., hands-on, Montessori, or special education practices).

Technical & Operational Skills:

  • Proficient in utilizing learning technology to enhance daily lessons.
  • Strong written communication and proofreading skills for professional correspondence with families and colleagues.

Personal Attributes:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • A warm, patient, and caring demeanor aligned with Brilliance Academy’s commitment to a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Must be able to pass a level 2 background check.
