Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our vibrant educational community. In this role, you will work closely with lead teachers to support classroom activities, foster a positive learning environment, and assist students in reaching their full potential. Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social skills development
  • Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a safe, organized environment
  • Work directly with children to promote their developmental milestones, including communication skills such as American Sign Language when applicable
  • Provide individualized assistance to students with disabilities or special needs, including those with autism or developmental disabilities, following IEP (Individualized Education Program) guidelines
  • Help facilitate activities that support childhood development, including Montessori and preschool methodologies, as well as toddler care practices
  • Assist in preparing classroom materials, setting up learning stations, and maintaining a clean and inviting space for children
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists on lesson planning, behavior management strategies, and curriculum adaptations for diverse learners

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Prior experience working with children in early childhood education, preschool, or childcare settings is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of special education practices and experience supporting students with disabilities or autism is desirable
  • Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
  • Proficiency in communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, teachers, and specialists
  • Understanding of curriculum development for literacy education, math instruction, and social-emotional learning
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in deaf education is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and adapt to diverse student needs
