Aldar Education is currently seeking an outstanding Teacher of Biology (A - Level) for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing the academic year.

Responsibilities
- Assist the academy in achieving its overall vision and strategic intentions, contributing to relevant targets set out in the improvement plan and self evaluation form.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and academy policies on safe working practice and equal opportunities.
- Adhere to the academy's Performance Management Policy, setting challenging annual targets and fulfilling performance management review duties as directed by the Principal.
- Participate in annual training on child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, and other training relevant to academy improvement or performance management.
- Attend all staff briefings.
- Create a climate conducive to outstanding learning and teaching.
- Identify clear teaching objectives and specify how they will be taught and assessed.
- Set tasks that challenge students and maintain high interest levels.
- Establish clear targets, building on prior attainment.
- Identify SEN or very able students.
- Provide clear lesson structures that maintain pace, motivation and challenge.
- Make effective use of assessment to ensure coverage of programme of study.
- Use performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated learning matched to need.
- Ensure effective teaching and optimal use of available time.
- Maintain an effective learning environment, encouraging good practice in punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework.
- Utilise a variety of teaching methods, including:
- matching the approach to content, structuring information, presenting key ideas, and using appropriate vocabulary;
- using effective questioning, listening carefully to students, and addressing errors and misconceptions;
- selecting appropriate learning resources and developing study skills through library, ICT and other learning technologies.
- Ensure students acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills and understanding appropriate to the subject.
- Evaluate own teaching critically to improve effectiveness.
- Mark and monitor students' work, setting targets for progress.
- Assess and record students' progress systematically, keeping records to confirm understanding, monitor strengths and development areas, inform planning, and recognise achievement levels.
- Undertake assessment of students as requested by examination bodies, departmental, and academy procedures.
- Prepare and present informative reports to parents.
- Take part in subject or departmental activities, developing plans that set clear targets and success criteria for development or maintenance.
- Contribute to the academy's visioning activities.
- Strive to give every child the opportunity to reach their potential and meet high expectations.
- Collaborate with other staff to share and use resources effectively for the benefit of the academy, department and students.
- Contribute to the corporate life of the academy through effective participation in meetings and management systems necessary to coordinate leadership and management.
- Take part in marketing and liaison activities such as open evenings/afternoons, parent teacher consultations, and events with partner academies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field with a teaching qualification.
- Minimum of two years' experience teaching a specialist subject up to GCSE and A Level.
