Job Description

Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Elementary Teacher for Yas American Academy in Abu Dhabi, starting August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to join the highly successful Aldar family of schools and contribute to shaping the future of the region's leading school group.

Yas American Academy opened in September 2016 and provides high quality education following the Massachusetts Common Core Curriculum, complemented by local curricula in Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Social Studies. Facilities include a large astro turf field, two swimming pools, a well stocked library, a multi purpose sports hall, an auditorium, and outdoor play areas. Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Collaborate with colleagues, work flexibly, and liaise within the school community.
• Develop positive relationships with all members of the school community.
• Engage parents to ensure happiness and academic success of children.
• Plan, prepare, and present sessions catering to the whole ability range.
• Organise classroom provision, learning resources, and create engaging displays.
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
• Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
• Collaborate with specialists such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when required.
• Take responsibility for the progress of a class and record development using Target Tracker.
• Use assessment data to inform further planning, provision, and intervention.
• Provide feedback to parents and carers during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
• Follow the school's behavior policy, manage classes effectively, and maintain good relationships with pupils.
• Act decisively within the school's behavioral policy and serve as a positive role model demonstrating the expected attitudes, values, and behaviours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related subject with an appropriate teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelors in Elementary Education).
• Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience in Elementary.
• Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
• Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
• High level of professionalism and consideration of children's well being.
• Recent and consistent involvement in extra curricular activities.
• Positive, solution focused attitude to working life.
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
