About the Role
As a Trainer, you will be responsible for facilitating computer science and problem-solving programs at partner government and affordable private schools to create a high-quality education ecosystem for student learning. This includes exhibiting excellent teaching, having a well-balanced analytical and creative mindset to problem-solve, providing innovative solutions, and taking initiative to own and build programs aligned with your core values while ensuring meaningful and sustainable impact for students.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Trainer, you will support all educational initiatives and programs. Your portfolio will include:
Program Delivery
- Ensure optimum instructional delivery of curriculum across specified grades in assigned school(s), which may involve classroom teaching and travel.
- Create monthly grade-specific goals and daily lesson plans in line with curriculum and teaching philosophy. File reports after each class.
- Track student attendance, assess and monitor student learning outcomes through assessments, projects, quizzes, etc., and provide progress reports as required.
- Coordinate with school authorities to ensure adequate instructional time and maintenance of labs.
Training and Capacity Building
- Participate in professional growth and development through continuing education, seminars, workshops, conferences, and professional memberships.
- Take part in training programs at the beginning of the year and monthly learning circles to share best practices and prepare for upcoming classes.
- Work with program managers to build teaching capacity based on feedback.
Events
- Coordinate with school authorities and conduct annual showcases for students. Mentor selected students for events.
- Conduct hackathons, quizzes, and field visits to enhance learning experiences and student interest.
- Support team in basic operational and program/event requirements for annual events.
Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and growth of programs through out-of-classroom activities, workshops, R&D for curriculum testing, impact analysis, recruitment, performance appraisals, and team-wide decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
- Analytical and creative mindset with problem-solving and innovative thinking skills.
- Relationship management skills with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders.
- Intellectually curious and responsive team contributor, delivering and receiving feedback regularly.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or Education, or demonstrable experience in STEM/Computer Science.
- At least 1 year of teaching or training experience with children in formal or informal settings.
- Working knowledge of education and program evaluation methods.
- Ability to speak the local language.
