Purpose of Role

To develop conceptual understanding of Mathematics for high school students by fostering analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. The role aims to strengthen the mathematical foundation of learners in alignment with the Cambridge/CBSE curriculum, while promoting curiosity, confidence, and real-world application of mathematical concepts. The teacher is expected to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that inspires students to think critically, explore patterns, and apply mathematics meaningfully in everyday life.

Teacher – Mathematics – High School - Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum framework.
• Foster foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking through age-appropriate teaching strategies.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports active participation.
• Regularly assess student progress, maintain records, and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Address varied learning needs by adapting teaching methods and resources.
• Maintain open, professional communication with parents regarding student progress and well-being.
• Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and school leadership to enhance teaching practices and learning outcomes.
• Participate in training, workshops, and continuous professional development opportunities.
• Support the holistic development of students by fostering values, social skills, and emotional well-being.
• Maintain lesson plans, student records, and contribute to school events and activities

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s degree in mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
• B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred)
• Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience at the high school level (preferably Grades 9–12, IGCSE /CBSE/ICSE/IB).
• Proven track record of academic excellence and student performance in board or competitive examinations.
• Proficiency in using digital tools and learning management systems for lesson delivery and assessment.
• Strong command over Mathematical concepts, problem-solving techniques, and logical reasoning.
• Ability to teach higher order topics
• Excellent classroom management and instructional planning skills.
• Ability to design and implement differentiated learning strategies to meet varied student needs.
