Eligibility for Florida certification is required. FL certification in Math 5-9 or Math 6-12 is a prerequisite for teaching in field. The Bureau of Educator Certification has developed instructional videos to guide applicants through the certification process, covering topics such as Florida's Online Educator Certification System Set-up and the Florida Teacher Certification Application. Math Major: Commonly accepted bachelor's (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include: Middle Grades Mathematics, Teaching Middle School Mathematics, Junior High Mathematics, Middle School Mathematics Education, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical/Aerospace, or Nuclear), Actuarial Science.
