Vacancy: Part-Time Teacher of Computer Science

Location:  Dubai (near World Trade Centre Metro Station) with the option of relocating to London, UK

JOB DESCRIPTION Teacher of Computer Science – Part Time

We seek an enthusiastic, committed, and highly skilled  Computer Science Teacher  to join the International British Online School from  January 2026 , working  1.5 days per week  from our Dubai office near the World Trade Centre Metro Station.

This new role is part of the school’s strategic expansion and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the world’s leading independent British Curriculum online schools. The position is ideal for exceptional teachers seeking part-time work while supporting an innovative and high-performing educational model. Essential Requirements
  • A certified teaching qualification such as B.Ed, BSc, PGCE, or equivalent, supported by a  subject-relevant Bachelor’s Degree  in Computer Science, Computing, IT, or a related discipline
  • Strong subject knowledge and extensive experience teaching the  British National Curriculum  in  Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
  • Experience teaching iGCSE Computer Science  and  iAL/AS/A Level Computer Science  (Pearson Edexcel preferred)
  • A proven track record of delivering outstanding teaching and learning in both online and classroom environments
  • Experience teaching programming, algorithms, computational thinking, networks, databases, and cybersecurity
  • The ability to support the development of a thriving department in a growing school
  • Proficiency in English (speaking and writing) at IELTS 8 or above
  • Strong IT literacy and confidence using digital platforms, especially Microsoft Teams
Desirable Qualities
  • Experience teaching KS2 Computing
  • Experience working with EAL or ESL pupils
  • Familiarity with Engage MIS
  • A passion for integrating technology into teaching and learning
  • Previous international teaching experience
Planning Responsibilities
  • Set ambitious and meaningful teaching and learning objectives based on students’ prior attainment and curriculum expectations
  • Plan high-quality lessons and sequences of learning, including differentiation and clear assessment strategies
  • Prepare strong digital and interactive resources and use ICT safely and effectively
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work, assessments, and shared resources
Monitoring and Assessment
  • Use assessment data and observation to drive student progress
  • Provide regular, constructive feedback that enables students to improve
  • Follow departmental policies for marking and homework
  • Manage incomplete work in accordance with school policies
  • Support students who are more able, underachieving, or experiencing emotional or behavioural challenges
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate effectively with parents
  • Engage students in reviewing their learning and setting future targets
Online Classroom Management
  • Maintain a purposeful, structured, and disciplined online learning environment
  • Uphold high expectations for academic conduct following the school’s Code of Conduct
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that motivate students
  • Promote independent learning and problem-solving
  • Meet the needs of diverse learners through effective differentiation
  • Manage teaching time, resources, and digital spaces efficiently
  • Assign meaningful homework that supports learning beyond the classroom
