Role Purpose
Join us in shaping the future of English language education. As an English Teacher with the British Council, you will inspire learners through high-quality teaching and impactful learning experiences. Beyond the classroom, you’ll contribute to our global mission of building trust and understanding between cultures, supporting the British Council’s wider goals in education and cultural relations.
Main Accountabilities:
Deliver High-Quality English Language Teaching
You will play a key role in supporting the British Council’s global English strategy by delivering English language teaching to the highest standards of ELT. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the British Council’s reputation as a world authority in English language education and the provider of choice in Egypt. Through thoughtful lesson planning, engaging delivery, and tailored instruction, you will meet the diverse needs of learners and promote learner autonomy.
Ensure Excellence in Teaching and Learning
You will be responsible for ensuring that your teaching meets both learner expectations and the British Council’s Teaching Quality Standards. This includes monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and contributing to the continuous improvement of courses and materials. You will complete teaching-related administrative tasks to the required standards and actively participate in professional development and performance management to maintain excellence in teaching and learning.
Support Organisational Goals and Safeguarding Standards
As a valued member of the teaching centre team, you will help foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and the wider community. You will support local marketing efforts, contribute to customer service excellence, and promote students’ understanding of contemporary UK culture. You will also uphold British Council policies and standards in safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, anti-bribery, information management, and health and safety.

• Job type: Full time
• Contract type: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract (FTC)
