This teaching position will provide instruction and support for students who are enrolled in an online dropout recovery program. This position is a virtual teaching position with the University of Texas-University Charter School. This teaching position is on 194 days traditional school calendar going August through May. The University of Texas-University Charter School is a public charter school and follows all state and federal regulations for public school services. The University of Texas-University Charter School is a part of the University of Texas at Austin’s College of Education and participates in the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment. This is a 10-month per year position. Salary will be spread over 12 months.

Responsibilities
Create an online classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for students' physical, social, and emotional development.
Required Qualifications
Valid Math 7-12 Texas teaching certification. Knowledge of assigned subject or subjects. Understanding of TEKS and the curriculum standards of the State of Texas. General knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a non-traditional school setting with special needs students of varying abilities and interests. Maintain awareness and understanding of the role that trauma may play in the lives of our students. Proficiency in technology and technology applications to the level specified by the district. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. This position requires fingerprinting. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Science 7-12 Texas teaching certification.
Salary Range
$57,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
The classroom is remote, with in-person delivery services as a possible requirement. Travel to Austin, TX, may be necessary at times to attend meetings and/or training. The candidate needs to be able to travel as needed.
