Teaches specific grade level subject matter to diverse high school student population following District standards-based curriculum. Helps all students develop competence and confidence simultaneously through a balance of acquiring basic skills and developing conceptual understanding.

What You'll Do:
  • Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement
  • Monitors, supervises, coordinates, and enforces rule of conduct and behavior of assigned students and reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy
  • Observes, evaluates, reports, and records student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
  • Prepares lesson plans and materials according to District approved curriculum guidelines
  • Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet varying needs and learning styles
  • Instructs students individually and in groups using various teaching methods (e.g., lectures, technology, discussions)
  • Establishes and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects
  • Prepares, administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software
  • Prepares student, attendance, and activity reports as required by administrators
  • Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve student behavior and academic problems
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field required
  • Current Colorado Department of Education teachers license with endorsement in assigned subject area or qualify for Alternative Licensure and have the qualifications needed for the position required
  • Proficiency with MS Office and other computer software programs
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
