We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Teaching Artist specializing in Instrumental Music, focusing on Strings, Woodwinds, and Brass instruments. Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards for instrumental music instruction across strings, woodwinds, and brass instruments
- Deliver engaging group lessons that enhance students’ technical skills, musical understanding, and performance confidence
- Develop innovative curriculum materials that incorporate diverse teaching methods, including improvisation, ensemble playing, and sight-reading
- Manage classroom environments effectively to foster positive behavior, motivation, and respect among students of all ages
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their artistic growth while encouraging self-expression and confidence
- Organize student performances, recitals, or showcases to celebrate progress and build community engagement
- Collaborate with other educators and community partners to integrate arts education into broader programming
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and lesson plans to ensure continuous improvement and accountability
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching instrumental music with expertise in Strings, Woodwinds, or Brass instruments
- Strong background in curriculum development tailored for diverse age groups including children, youth, and adults
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment
- Experience in tutoring or working with children and early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and childhood development principles
- Ability to adapt lessons for students with special needs or those requiring additional support in music learning
- Familiarity with performance preparation techniques and organizing student recitals or concerts
- Additional skills such as photography, theater arts, ballet, cooking, sewing, or other arts can enhance program integration but are not required
