Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Lead to manage our Cell and Molecular Biology team. The primary focus will be on the development of recombinant and native antigens for In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD). The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing development, molecular biology, and kit development activities, as well as leading and mentoring a team of scientists. This role is crucial for driving innovation and ensuring the smooth functioning of our Cell and Molecular Biology department, aligning with the company's vision, values, and mission.

Key Responsibilities

 Embody and promote Company's Vision, Values, and Mission within the team.  Lead the development of recombinant antigens/proteins from various hosts.  Oversee molecular biology activities and clone development.  Design primers, perform PCR, and construct vectors for various projects.  Spearhead the development of molecular diagnostic kits.  Prepare comprehensive product development documents.  Analyse and mitigate risks associated with product development.  Transfer processes and technology to relevant departments.  Identify training needs and skill gaps within the team and address them proactively.  Set team objectives, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of projects.  Collaborate effectively with other departments to achieve overall business objectives.  Lead, mentor, and train team members to foster a high-performance environment.  Contribute to overall business objectives by aligning team goals with company strategy.  Plan product development initiatives to maximize market reach and revenue generation.  Build and develop the Cell and Molecular Biology Team.  Identify unmet market needs and translate them into actionable development plans.  Support commercial teams in identifying and pursuing new market opportunities.  Ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the Cell and Molecular Biology department.

Required Skills & Qualifications 

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Cell and Molecular Biology.

Education: Doctorate in Biotechnology or Life Sciences.

Technical Skills: Extensive experience in recombinant protein development. Proficiency in molecular biology techniques. Expertise in primer designing and PCR. Strong skills in vector designing and construction. Experience in molecular diagnostics kit development. Proficiency in risk analysis and mitigation. Experience in process/technology transfer.

Soft Skills: Proven team leadership and mentoring abilities. Strong project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Good-to-Have Skills)  Market knowledge of recombinant antigens.  Experience in providing commercial support.  Entrepreneurial mind-set.
