Team Lead – Flatbed Assembly

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Team Lead – Flatbed Assembly role in Vancouver, WA. Our client is a respected manufacturing company known for producing high-quality truck equipment and custom solutions. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support the Flatbed Assembly team to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are achieved.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Perform equipment setup, layout work, and fixture placement according to project requirements.
  • Assemble flatbeds according to specifications, including installation of structural components.
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel materials.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, drills, saws, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
  • Accurately measure, align, and fit components to ensure compliance with specifications and DOT standards.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the assembly process and address any defects or deviations.
  • Train, mentor, and assist team members with assembly, fabrication, and welding best practices.
  • Troubleshoot production challenges and work collaboratively to improve efficiency and workflow.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, modifications, and production activities.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment required.
  • Prior flatbed assembly experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of aluminum MIG and TIG welding experience required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of light- and heavy-duty truck systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive and trailer wiring preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a positive "can-do" attitude.
